PARC NATUREL REGIONAL MEDOC
Bordered to the east by the Gironde Estuary and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, it extends from Bordeaux to the Pointe de Grave. Between wine-growing and agricultural areas, forest massif, lakes or even beaches, the park is marked by an extraordinary landscape diversity.
In 2019, the Médoc was classified as a Regional Natural Park. It is at the same time a historical, geographical, natural and cultural identity. Located 5 minutes from the campsite, Soulac sur Mer is a renowned seaside resort, facing the Cordouan lighthouse, this town is known for its neocolonial villas arranged around its basilica, a historic site of the Atlantic Wall, all listed as UNESCO world heritage. You can walk in the pedestrian street, ideal for your shopping, do your market under the Halls, or take advantage of its magnificent beach, its activities and the many bars and restaurants.
Valeyrac
Typical village on the edge of the estuary, with its small port and its fishing huts, renowned for its farming of Médoc oysters but also for its vineyards traversed by the famous wine route. Taste the products of the estuary: fish, prawns, shrimps, oysters, in our small ports and their “guinguettes”. Discover the wine route and its chateaux.
Montalivet-Les-Bains
Located 5 minutes from the campsite, the seaside resort facing the sea offers miles of beach, sand and dunes; paradise for surfers and other outdoor or nautical activities. The perfect place for daytime and nighttime entertainment, bars and restaurants. The unmissable, its large market, its refreshments and its tasting stands open 7/7 every morning from April to the end of October minimum.
Saint-Vivien
At the tip of the Médoc, a unique place where the sea meets the Gironde estuary – the largest in Europe – The seaside resort “of three lighthouses and four ports”, its beaches and bunkers but also its many sport activities and its little tourist train will delight young and old alike.
Le Verdon-sur-Mer
Village on the edge of the estuary with its small port and its atypical “guinguettes”, its beach overlooking the estuary, its oyster and shrimp farming, its local market and its local products.
