From our campsite near Soulac-sur-Mer, set off by bike or all-terrain electric scooter to discover the beaches of Montalivet, Le Gurp, Soulac-sur-Mer and Hourtin. All are easily and quickly accessible, and offer the ideal setting for swimming, surfing, beach games or picnics. Waterfront vacations await you on this unspoilt coastline.

The Médoc’s most beautiful beaches

With its kilometers of coastline, the Médoc offers a picture-postcard setting. You’ll be seduced by the long sandy beaches lined with dunes and pine trees, and awarded the Pavillon Bleu label. Plage du Gurp, just 5 km away, is perfect for families, with its gentle waves and supervised beach. The livelier Montalivet is known for its market and activities. Further north, the beach at Le Verdon-sur-Mer offers a unique view of the Cordouan lighthouse. If you prefer to be away from the city center, Plage de l’Amélie is the ideal place for a supervised family swim in an unspoilt wilderness setting. These are unmissable spots to enjoy the sun, the ocean and the sporting activities available near Soulac-sur-Mer.

Swimming and surfing just a stone’s throw from the campsite

The Médoc is an ideal playground for beginners and advanced surfers alike. Several surf schools welcome young and old alike for an introduction to the Atlantic waves. Surfing is an integral part of the Médoc’s culture, as its beaches make it a veritable watersports paradise. Surfing culture is omnipresent in the Médoc, and when you stay at Camping des Familles Ecolodge, you’re just a few pedal strokes away from the perfect spot to try your hand at it.
Lovers of idleness will not be outdone: cocktails by the water, discovering the gastronomy and wines of the Médoc, swimming with the family or long walks on the beach… there’ s something for everyone.

Explore the Gironde Estuary

Don’t leave without taking the time to explore the Gironde estuary. This unique area of Western Europe, 12 km wide in places, is home to islands, marshes, colorful carrelets and exceptional wildlife. Take advantage of your stay to visit small ports such as Saint-Vivien or Talais, or embark on a cruise to the Cordouan lighthouse (voted France’s 2nd favorite monument).
